Jul 27, 20232 Arrested In Redwood City Bicycle Heist: Police
REDWOOD CITY, CA — Police have arrested two Redwood City men that investigators allege were responsible for a large bike theft in the city in early June.
In a news release, the Redwood City Police Department said it began an investigation after the suspects broke into the Chain Reaction Bicycle Shop on June 1 and stole multiple high-end bicycles with a combined value of more than $50,000.
The investigation eventually led detectives to two suspects, identified Friday as Jose Guadalupegomez, 32, and Joe Rivera, 27, both of Redwood City. Both men were booked into the San Mateo County Jail.
The case is still active, and investigators have yet to locate most of the stolen bicycles. Detectives also believe more people may have been involved in the crime.
Anyone with information that could lead police to the missing bikes or additional suspects can contact detectives at 650-780-7607 or via the tip line at 650-780-7110.
